The goal for Occupational Therapy is to promote, maintain, and develop the skills needed by students to be functional in a school setting and beyond. 

An occupational therapist works to develop skills for handwriting, fine motor skills, and daily living skills.

Physical Therapy

The Physical Therapists at FFA work with the students to increase participation in daily routines at home, in the community, and at school. 

Some activities that a Physical therapists may work on include:

  • Improve participation in daily routines at home and school
  • Acquire new motor skills
  • Develop better coordination and a more stable posture
  • Improve reciprocal play skills, such as throwing and catching a ball with another person
  • Develop motor imitation skills (seeing another person perform an action and then copying that action)
  • Increase fitness and stamina
